About Brittney
Brittney transitioned from nonprofit work to pursue a MS in Family Counselling, where she is currently completing her clinical internship. She has specialised training in perinatal mental health (pre- and postnatal depression, anxiety, and rage), reproductive issues (including infertility, perinatal loss, and birth trauma), and general parental and familial wellbeing. Brittney’s counselling approach is integrative, collaborative and strengths-based, rooted in the belief that every individual, couple, and family can heal and grow. She is passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces for clients from diverse backgrounds.
Additionally, Brittney is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, where she brings a trauma-informed, empathetic perspective to supporting parents and families. She also currently leads Willow, a peer-support organisation for parents navigating the challenges of parenthood. Previously, Brittney served vulnerable communities in Hong Kong as a psychosocial practitioner for more than a decade, helping to establish two grassroots anti-trafficking organisations focused on reaching, identifying, rehabilitating, and reintegrating survivors of sexual exploitation and trafficking.
Originally from Texas, Brittney moved to Hong Kong in 2008 and has called it home ever since. Together with her husband, she has been a foster parent for many years and now dedicates much of her time (and energy) to raising her young children. Outside of her professional life, Brittney enjoys thrifting, exploring Hong Kong’s hidden gems, and spending time with her family and friends. She is grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions.
